Volodymyr Lytvyn, Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, declares that he will exert Every Effort to prevent the Destruction of Parliamentarism and the Country
"Any intentions to destroy the country, eliminating the institute of parliamentarism, will fail, - stated V.Lytvyn commenting upon the today´s events at the parliament. At present, a deliberate conscious destruction of the remains of stability and predictability in the country can be observed",
V.Lytvyn expressed his hopes that "Ukrainian nation must express its standpoint on the said matter today". "The misbalance, dishonour and confrontation acquire unprecedented scope. It is inadmissible. I deem necessary to exert every effort to prevent further destruction of the country", - he added.
V.Lytvyn reminded of the fact that the Deputies were suggested a number of compromise solutions. However, neither decision was upheld, although "there were no objections" before the afternoon plenary meeting.
The Head of the Parliament stressed that pursuant to the Constitution of Ukraine and the Standing Orders of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine every Deputy had to vote personally at the plenary meetings. "It is necessary to finish this matter: if everyone upholds the increase of the social standards, then the Deputies should express their opinions on the matter, as required by Clause 84 of the Constitution", - he stated.
"The conclusion is apparent: the resolution on the increase of social standards is not necessary, unlike the intention to aggravate the confrontation in the country", - he stated.
